Shanghai, China: March 15, 2011 – The global specialist in energy management, Schneider Electric, has unveiled its fifth generation of modular systems to China ahead of other market: the Acti9. Acti9 builds on over 40 years of Schneider Electric expertise and has resulted in the development of 21 new patents, which sets the global benchmark for circuit breaker technology. The Acti9 series is notable for covering all applications,
especially in polluted environments and networks, for absolute safety and improved continuity of service.
Schneider Electric’s China Vice-President and Head of Power BU, CAO Wei, said: “Responding to customer needs with industry leading innovation means that Schneider Electric is at the forefront of power distribution technology and the Acti9 is our most recent and proud achievement. We are happy to present to China Schneider Electric’s new fifth generation modular system the Acti9, which builds on our history of introducing groundbreaking
technologies in China.”
Suitable for both commercial and industrial applications, the Acti9 series represent a breakthrough in electrical safety, flexibility and ease-of-use. With visible safety (the ’VisiSafe’ concept) marked by the green strip, the Acti9 provides total safety: it is able to withstand over-voltage rates of 6kA, pollution rates at level 3 and has a rated insulation voltage of 500V, which can keep maintenance people and users safe. Secondly, the Acti9 carries the Multiclip distribution system and provides 18mm DPN earth leakage circuit breaker, Reflex iC60 integrated with control and circuit breaker functionality, which can improve clients’ flexibility from design, selection, adjustment to scalability. Last, the Acti9 series have an integrated indication function called VisiTrip along with communication and control functionality provided by Schneider Electric only, which will simplify the control process
of the clients.
Schneider Electric’s power distribution products have set the standard for innovation, with each decade since 1970 marking a breakthrough in modular systems. In 1970, Schneider Electric introduced the F70, then the F32 and in the 1990s the C45, which in China marked the move from fuse to safer, more reliable circuit breaker technology. The Multi9, introduced at the beginning of the 21st century was the fourth generation of modular systems and as the basis for safe, reliable and efficient electrical distribution, these systems have now culminated in the Acti9. Schneider Electric’s proprietary over the technology that brought circuit breaker technology to China and subsequent investment in innovation means that it now dominates the commercial and industrial power
distribution markets.
